Weekly Standard Risks Reputation With Anti-Gay Advertising

(Washington, DC) - Log Cabin Republicans rebuke the Weekly Standard for promotion of grossly antigay material through its e-mail marketing program.

"The Weekly Standard is a respected conservative publication. Eugene DelGaudio's delusional rants are beneath the dignity of its informed readership," said Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director R. Clarke Cooper. "We strongly suggest the Standard re-evaluate the process for future e-mails from the marketing department in order to maintain the publication's credibility and reputation as a serious news source. Conservative readers expect better than this, and the Weekly Standard should know that much of its audience, including Log Cabin Republicans, support the freedom to marry, open military service and protecting students in our public schools from abuse. Putting out this drivel under the Weekly Standard's banner is an egregious error that needs to be corrected."
