(Washington, DC) – Alan Keyes, on the eve of Vice President Cheney's address to the Republican Convention, attacked the Vice President's daughter, referring to openly gay Mary Cheney as a "selfish hedonist."

"In a political career defined by failures, this is a new low for Alan Keyes," said Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director Patrick Guerriero. "Attacking politician's children is beyond the pale, even for an extremist like Alan Keyes."

"Alan Keyes is good at two things: losing elections and dividing Americans," continued Guerriero.

Log Cabin Republicans recently launched a national television advertising campaign asking the party to make a choice between a hopeful message of inclusion or a pessimistic message of fear and intolerance that only leads to hate. The ad can be viewed at www.logcabin.org. "The Republican Party has a choice, we can either be the party of Arnold Schwarzenegger or the party of Alan Keyes," concluded Guerriero.
