Log Cabin Republicans Announces New Board Leadership

Washington, D.C. - Today the Log Cabin Republicans Board of Directors announced the election of Bob Kabel as Chairman and Jill Homan as Vice Chairwoman.

Kabel and Homan will work with the entire board of directors and the Log Cabin Republican Staff to strengthen the organization leading into the upcoming election season while also addressing key issues facing the LGBTQ community.

Bob Kabel, an attorney, is Republican National Committeeman for the District of Columbia. He served as Special Assistant to President Reagan for Legislative Affairs and was a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS during the Bush Administration. Previously, he served as chairman of Log Cabin Republicans and subsequently Liberty Education Forum from 1993-2004.

"I am honored to have been elected Chair of Log Cabin Republicans at this important time for the GOP and our LGBTQ community. I look forward to working with the many accomplished board members and Jerri Ann Henry to continue to advance the mission of Log Cabin Republicans," said Kabel.

Jill Homan is a National Committeewoman for the Washington, DC Republican Party and serves as a board member and Vice President of the League of Republican Women in DC and an Executive Committee Member for the DC Republican committee. She formerly co-chaired the Romney-Ryan campaign in DC and has worked for John McCain's and George W Bush's presidential campaigns.

"I look forward to using my background and knowledge to ensure our organization is in a strong position to have an impact on the critical issues facing LGBTQ Republicans and all Americans," said Homan.

"Having seen the work of both Bob and Jill over the years, I am confident in their ability to lead this organization and look forward to working with them," Executive Director Jerri Ann Henry stated. "We share a passion for representing Republicans in the LGBTQ community as well as building a strong organization and movement."
