(Washington, DC) Don R. Bramer, a businessman, former presidential appointee, and veteran has been named the Interim Deputy Executive Director of the Log Cabin Republicans.

Ramping up for election day, Log Cabin Republicans continue to expand in Washington and in the field. Bramer, the latest addition, is a veteran of Capitol Hill, the George H. W. Bush administration and is an officer in the Navy Reserve.

"Log Cabin is fortunate to have Don's skills and experience to lead our Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts at this critical time," said Log Cabin Republicans National Executive Director R. Clarke Cooper. "His twenty years of private sector, public policy and political experience have prepared him to increase our role as a key player in building an inclusive Republican Party during the 2012 election cycle. Log Cabin Republicans members and chapters will be mobilizing to support our endorsed candidates and allies."

Bramer first came to Washington, DC to join the staff of Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY). During the George H.W. Bush Administration, Bramer served as Confidential Assistant for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Department of Commerce and later served at the Social Security Advisory Council with the Department of Health and Human Services. In his home state of Kentucky, Bramer served on former Congressman Larry J. Hopkin's gubernatorial campaign. Bramer has served on combat missions for the Global War on Terror and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

"Log Cabin Republicans are committed to supporting Republican leaders who adhere to the core conservative principles of limited government, individual liberty, personal responsibility, free markets and a strong national defense," said Bramer. "We are fortunate to have a growing number of allies to support in building a pro-equality GOP caucus, and I look forward to working with Log Cabin members and the Republican Party as we fight for the principles that are so important to our nation."

"Electing Republican allies and actively participating in expanding the base of the Republican Party are central to Log Cabin's mission of building a stronger, more inclusive GOP, and we are proud to have Don leading our GOTV efforts," said Cooper.
