Cleveland, OH & Washington, D.C. - In a historic first that could prove a bellwether move for the Republican Party nationally in advance of the 2016 elections, the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County has partnered with Log Cabin Republicans as official supporters of the global Gay Games, which began this week in Cleveland, Ohio, site of the RNC National Convention in 2016.

"Cuyahoga County Republicans are eager to expand the tent and reach non-traditional Republicans with a clear message of limited government and personal responsibility," Cuyahoga County Republican Party Chairman Rob Frost stated. "We are committed to engaging every single voter in the County no matter who they are or how they have voted in the past."

Guests at the Gay Games in Cleveland will be welcomed by members of the Cuyahoga County GOP and Log Cabin Republicans with various collateral, including a water bottle that reads, "The Republican Party of Cuyahoga County welcomes you to the Gay Games in Cleveland! REFRESHING!" This marks the first time a Republican Party affiliate has ever participated so prominently at the Gay Games.

"Log Cabin Republicans of Ohio couldn't be more enthusiastic about this partnership with the Cuyahoga County GOP," Log Cabin Republicans of Ohio President Dale Giesige added. "Log Cabin Republicans continues to make inroads in the GOP, and our prominent participation in the Gay Games this year in conjunction with Chairman Frost and his team will lead to inroads with gay voters and allies in Cleveland and across the country."

Log Cabin Republicans National Executive Director Gregory T. Angelo added:

"Two years out from the 2016 RNC National Convention and all eyes are already on Cleveland. The level of engagement with the Gay Games displayed by the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County shows that Republicans in Ohio are serious about leaving no stone unturned in the push to broaden the appeal of the GOP. I commend Chairman Frost for his leadership, and Log Cabin Republicans of Ohio President Giesige for his tireless work that will send a message to the LGBT community in the Buckeye State and across the country: the GOP is open for business to everybody."
