Log Cabin Launches National Advisory Board

Republican Members of Congress Head Pro-Inclusion Effort

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The nation's largest gay Republican organization formally launched a National Advisory Board today, expanding its mission to build an inclusive Republican Party by partnering with top Republican leaders from around the country.

"Log Cabin has a responsibility to be the forum for Republican leaders who share our mission of building a Republican Party that reaches out to gay and lesbian Americans across the country," said Rich Tafel, executive director of Log Cabin Republicans. "Log Cabin Republicans and the founding members of the National Advisory Board will work over the next year to bring a broad cross-section of Republican leaders from across the country to the Advisory Board. We share a commitment to common goals, and will work to continue promoting our mission together."

The founding members of the Log Cabin Republicans National Advisory Board are Congressman Jim Kolbe (R-AZ), Senator Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), Senator Jim Jeffords (R-VT), Congresswoman Sue Kelly (R-NY),, Congressman Tom Campbell (R-CA), Congressman Christopher Shays (R-CT), Congresswoman Connie Morella (R-MD), Congressman Steve Horn (R-CA) and Congressman Jim Greenwood (R-PA).

The National Advisory Board will act as a consultive body with the leadership of Log Cabin Republicans in legislative and political issues central to furthering Log Cabin Republicans' mission.
