(Washington, DC) - Log Cabin Republicans call upon leaders in both the House and the Senate to pass tax relief and a job creation package to get Americans back to work. The Middle Class Tax Relief & Job Creation Act would extend current payroll tax relief, protect Social Security, reform and extend unemployment insurance and put forward programs for strengthening and creating jobs across America.

"As Americans are faced with the economic realities of President Obama's failed policies Congress must act quickly to support private-sector job growth while preventing increases to the federal debt," said R. Clarke Cooper, Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director. "This legislation is offset, not by massive, job-killing tax increases, but rather by spending cuts and much-needed reforms. Additionally, a critical part of this bill would keep America moving forward on the Keystone XL energy pipeline, creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs and strengthening America's energy independence. While keeping a focus on job creation, the act provides critical funding for the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, helping Americans in a time of need keep food on the table and gain assistance in getting back to work."
