Log Cabin oppposes Tymkovich nomination

(WASHINGTON, DC) – The Log Cabin Republicans oppose the nomination of Timothy Tymkovich to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

His record reflects problematic views of gay and lesbian Americans and laws that would protect them. Several law review articles are particularly troubling to Log Cabin Republicans.

In those articles Tymkovich needlessly used inflammatory rhetoric in connection with commentary on gays and lesbians.

"While we support President Bush on a wide range of issues we must respectfully disagree with the choice of Timothy Tymkovich to sit on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals," said Log Cabin Republicans executive director Patrick Guerriero.

"We look forward to working with the White House on nominees who support the President's promise of a compassionate conservative agenda," Guerriero concluded.
