Executive Director:
Collin Scheible: I have been a member of the Georgia Log Cabin Republicans for 3 years now, and during that time have worked hard to learn the ins and outs of the organization, both locally and nationally. I have also made sure to attend as many events and to meet as many members as possible, as I know that without our members, is nothing. During this past year, I have had the honor of serving as Georgia LCR’s Treasurer, and have thoroughly enjoyed both my duties as Director of Finance CFO as well as serving on the chapter’s board in general. I have been both amazed and humbled at our members’ dedication to conversative ideals and to bettering their own communities, particularly in this political climate. Our members have helped me realize that we in Georgia have at our fingertips a vast amount of potential and influence that we can utilize to better Atlanta, Georgia, and the nation. Specifically, my goals for Georgia as President are:Starting new traditions and events, including service or philanthropic opportunities -Being clear with National on our needs and obtaining more support from them in all areas -Upgrading membership “perks”-including more merchandise, discounts, and starting a Georgia LCR -Growing our income so that we may host larger and more impactful events -Establishing relationships with other LCR chapters from nearby states or throughout the U.S. in order to collaborate and make a larger impact nationwide -Becoming more involved in all levels of government, including involvement with events such as Pride, state events, and city/county/local governments -Developing Georgia to become a well-known, solid, contributing entity both in Atlanta and throughout the state -Listening to our members -to their opinions, wants, and needs—Determining from membership what events to hold, who they want to hear from, and the direction they would like the organization to take -Allowing board members to take full command of their own positions and to conduct their duties free from unnecessary interference. This year I had the privilege of attending the national Log Cabin Republicans conference in Las Vegas along with several other Georgia board members. I believe we all made an impact, and it was a joy to meet members from other chapters throughout the country. When we attended the Trump Unity event for voters last month, the national director even gave me a hug, which reinforced to me that Georgia matters on a national stage. It is now our time to use our voice and to no longer to hide in the shadows. I am originally from the Washington, D.C. area, and know well how important national politics can be, but also have developed an immense pride and joy at being a Georgian during my last 7 years calling the Peach State home. I am an Eagle Scout, currently serve as president of my fraternity’s chapter alumni board, graduated with a B.S. from Penn State in three years, and earned my Master of Business Administration from Georgia Tech in 2021 with concentrations in both finance and strategy. I love a good football or basketball game and my little black labrador mix. At present, I work for Georgia Tech’s Research Institute, working hard each day to serve our military servicemembers so they may focus on their mission to keep America and the world safe. I look forward to earning your vote, and I pledge to do my best for each and every one of our members.
Director of Finance:
Jamie Hilson: I would like your vote for the position of Director of Finance. I believe I can apply my experience as the former Treasurer for the Forsyth County Republican party, as well as skills I learned in my program to ensure your membership funds are properly handled and judiciously spent. In my previous position as Director of Membership, we increased overall membership throughout the year, started a Meet-up group (currently with over thirty members) and redesigned our member t-shirts. I’ve been an active member of Georgia, and I hope to continue the work of our previous Director of Finance (Collin Scheible). I believe I have the requisite skills necessary to fulfill this important board position. Please let me know if you have any questions at [email protected]
Director of Events:
Jerry Noyola: I am running for director of events. I am the current director of events and have been for the past 2 years. I have delivered fun events from movie night, to top golf, a weekend in Blue Ridge, to a fun weekend getaway in not only Lake Martin, AL but also in Key West, FL and Friendsgiving and the Holiday Party. I do believe Events are a vital part of any club/organization and I do enjoy meeting with the members and see the smile on their faces when they are around like minded people like us and I do plan to continue provide fun events for everyone. The greatest joy is meeting new and current members and looking for our chapter to grow. Would definitely like to work with National and other local LCR chapters near by to do joint-events. And do some more fun events for the upcoming year.
Director of Policy:
Skyler Akins: I am the current Director of Policy for the Georgia Log Cabin Republicans. We were able, during my time, to pass legislation banning gender-affirming care for minors and made significant progress towards a Riley Gaines Act here in Georgia that I expect to pass this session. I also serve as the Co-President/Executive Vice-President of the Atlanta Young Republicans, and was their Treasurer for 3 years, so I am extremely great at building coalitions to secure policy wins and cultivating relationships with our party’s elected officials. My goals for 2025 are to: Host a City of Atlanta Candidates Forum (Mayor and Council are all on the ballot), develop a standard questionnaire for endorsements, and work to strengthen our laws and regulations around biological men competing in women sports. We achieve our policy goals by building bridges, coalitions, and I believe this is a strength I have and can continue to use to only grow the influence and presence of the Log Cabin Republicans.
Director of Membership:
Patrick Kelly: I am running for Director of Membership because I know what it feels like to feel isolated, without a community that truly understands you. As Republicans, we sometimes face challenges in finding spaces where we can express both our identities and our values. My mission is to make our organization a welcoming and empowering place where everyone feels heard, valued, and connected. I envision a community where Republicans and Independents can come together in an atmosphere of mutual respect and shared purpose. By fostering inclusivity, I want to ensure that no one has to feel isolated or without a voice. I plan to introduce initiatives that connect members with each other, as well as create opportunities for open dialogue, new membership, and support. As Director of Membership, I will work to: • Strengthen our community by assisting in organizing events that bring us together as peers and allies. • Connect with individuals who may not yet know about us but share our values. • Ensure that every voice within our membership is heard and respected. Together, we can build a community where we feel both proud of who we are and supported in our values. I am committed to creating this inclusive and welcoming environment, and I would be honored to serve as your Director of Membership.
Director of Administration:
Greg Emmerth: I’m running to deepen my involvement in, which I’ve greatly enjoyed being part of since I returned to Atlanta for the third time. I’m committed to contributing my background and skills in operations and administration to support and strengthen the chapter, helping it thrive and become even better.
Director of Communications:
Brian Ballard: I have been a member of Log Cabin Republicans since 1987 & have served on the national board as well as leadership positions in both the Georgia & Washington state chapters.
I launched the original Georgia Log Cabin web site & edit the weekly chapter e-mail newsletter. I also maintain our daily social media activity on three mainstream platforms (X, Instagram & Facebook) plus six alternate platforms. I have built up our X following to more than 133,000 people – more than the national Log Cabin, Georgia GOP & Georgia Democratic Party followers. These activities are instrumental in making the Georgia Log Cabin chapter a state & national powerhouse & continuing to grow our chapter with new members.
I would like to continue to serve as the Director of Communications to continue to build our chapter and I appreciate your support.
